No more COVID-19 admissions at Altnagelvin which has 10.49% capacity left

At midnight on Wednesday 40 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals.

Six of 12 (50%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; four (33.33%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and two (16.67%) were free.

Seven ICU patients in total were being ventilated - four were COVID-19 patients and three were non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 10.19% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 79.01% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 10.49% capacity left in the system: 0.31% were ‘awaiting admission.’
