Two more admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19 with 2.35% capacity left in system

Two more people - a man in his 40s and woman in her 60s - were admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19 yesterday.

At midnight on Wednesday 41 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across Western Trust hospitals. This is as low as it has been since October 6.

Six of 15 (40%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; four (26.67%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and five (33.33%) were free.

Eight ICU patients in total were being ventilated - four were COVID-19 patients and four non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 7.92% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 86.22% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 2.35% capacity left in the system: 3.52% were ‘awaiting admission.’
