Body recovered after missing person search in Donegal

A multi agency search took place on Monday for a missing person in Donegal, which sadly led to the recovery of a body.

Lough Swilly RNLI, Foyle Search and Rescue, Gardai, the Irish Coastguard helicopter and friends and family of the woman all took part in the search.

A spokesperson for Foyle Search and Rescue confirmed on its Facebook page that at approximately 10:30am on Monday, February 1, Garda Siochana requested the assistance of Foyle Search & Rescue assets in a missing person search in County Donegal.

“FSR deployed four Mobile Units, a UAV (drone) Team, Swiftwater Team and an Incident Commander. The multi agency search involved the Irish Coastguard Helicopter, Buncrana RNLI Lifeboat, members of the Garda, FSR, family & friends of the missing person.”

The woman’s body was later found by a member of the public.

The teams have all offered their sincere condolences to the lady’s family and friends.
