Pizza delivery driver '˜badly shaken' after attempted robbery
Sinn Fein Colr. Christopher Jackson has spoken to the man at the centre of the incident and the local councillor described what happened as a “disgrace”.
“I have spoken to the driver and he has been left badly shaken by this incident,” confirmed Colr. Jackson.

Hide Ad“It’s a disgrace that people out trying to make a living are coming under attack.
“I would urge anyone with information about this attempted robbery at Virginia Court to bring it forward to the police straight away,” he added.
The incident happened at around 7:30pm on Saturday January 16.
The pizza delivery driver had just dropped off a delivery in Virginia Court when, on returning to his car, he noticed two males running down the alleyway towards the Trench Road.

Hide Ad“When he reached his car and got into it, a brick was then thrown through the driver’s side window. Both males then started to shout at the victim ‘gimme your money’. Both were holding 3 foot long metal bars,” said investigating officer, Constable Moody.
“The delivery man managed to drive off and no money was taken.
The would-be robbers were aged in their late teens or early 20s and were wearing dark clothing.
